ABOUT THE SPEAKER

James Jordan is the News Director for Europe and Africa for The Associated Press where he overseas more than over 200 journalists in all formats across two continents. He has overseen the global news agency’s award-winning coverage from Ukraine and interviewed Zelenskyy twice – most recently in November, when he travelled to Kupiansk with the president. In June 2024, he travelled to Russia and met President Putin making him one of the few journalists to have interviewed both leaders. 

In this historical year of elections, he has run the report for votes in the UK, the EU, France (twice), South Africa and Russia – amongst many others.  

Before joining The AP in 2016, James worked at ITV News and Sky News in senior newsgathering roles. He has run teams in Iraq, Tunisia and in Paris following the terror attacks. He was part of the ITV News team that interviewed Pope Francis shortly after he was elected by the conclave in 2013.

He began his career as a print reporter on the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, in north-east England, where he learnt his trade on the seven-edition a day evening newspaper.

  • Check-in will begin at 11:30 AM with seating available on a first-come first-serve basis. The program will begin at 12:00 PM.
  • Those with online reservations do not need to present ticket confirmation at the door, we will have all confirmed attendees on a list at check-in.
  • Online registration closes at 6:00 PM on October 9. Tickets will be available at the door on a first come first served basis.
  • Lunch at this program will be available for individual order and purchase from Bear Tooth Theatre.
