DESCRIPTION:\nBuilding effective ocean rules while preserving maritime free
 doms is a daunting task and international institutions and activists are s
 truggling for relevance in a world still dominated by national governments
 . As maritime tensions develop\, join AKWorld and author David Bosco as he
  discusses his book The Poseidon Project and explains the history of huma
 nity's attempt to create rules for the oceans.\n\n\n\nFeatured speaker:\nD
 avid Bosco is Associate Professor of International Studies at Indiana Univ
 ersity's Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. He is 
 the author of The Poseidon Project and previous books on the UN Security C
 ouncil and the International Criminal Court\, Rough Justice (OUP 2014) and
  Five to Rule Them All (OUP 2009). He also writes the Multilateralist blo
 g and previously he served as a senior editor at Foreign Policy magazine.
  Bosco worked on refugee issues in post-war Bosnia. He began as a volunte
 er with the American Refugee Committee and then became head of its Sarajev
 o office. He later served as deputy director of a joint United Nations/NAT
 O project on repatriating refugees in Sarajevo. After returning to the Uni
 ted States and while enrolled in Harvard Law School\, Bosco interned at NA
 TO Military Headquarters in Mons\, Belgium. In 2000\, he served as a law c
 lerk in the legal advisor’s office of the U.S. State Department. After g
 raduating from law school\, Bosco was a Fulbright Scholar in Santiago\, Ch
 ile from 2001-2002. He conducted research on criminal justice reform and p
 ublished a feature article in Legal Affairs. From 2002-2004 he was an atto
 rney at Cleary\, Gottlieb\, Steen &amp\; Hamilton. There\, he specialized 
 in international arbitration\, litigation and antitrust law. From 2004 to 
 2006\, he was senior editor at Foreign Policy magazine. He remains a contr
 ibuting editor with the magazine and writes its Multilateralist Blog.\n\n\
 n\nPROGRAM DETAILS\n\n 	Check-in will begin at 11:30am with seating availa
 ble on a first-come first-serve basis. The program will begin at 12:00pm.\
 n 	Those with online reservations do not need to present ticket confirmati
 on at the door\, we will have all confirmed attendees on a list at check-i
 n.\n 	Lunch at this program will be available for individual order and pur
 chase from Bear Tooth Theatre. If you wish to do so\, plan on arriving ear
 ly to ensure you receive your meal by the end of the program.\n 	Online re
 gistration closes at 6:00 pm on April 12. Tickets will be available for pu
