DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Alaska World Affairs Council and the Anchorage School D
 istrict teamed up on February 28th\, 2018 to offer a jump start to high sc
 hool students considering international options in their post-secondary jo
 urneys. \n\nIn attendance were: \n\n 	113 high school juniors and seniors 
 from 14 schools in the Anchorage\, Eagle River\, and Mat-Su area\;\n 	29 m
 entors\, representing 12 different industries and 26 companies/organizatio
 ns\; and \n 	13 organizations providing information at resource tables. \n
 \nThis event would not have been possible without the support from Alaska 
 Airlines and BP.\n\n\n\nThe Alaska World Affairs Council and the Anchorage
  School District (ASD) have teamed up to offer a jump start to high school
  students considering international options in their postsecondary journey
 s. \n\nThis event will include:\n\n\n 	Opening remarks by ASD Superintende
 nt\, Dr. Deena Bishop.\n 	An informational presentation by the Alaska Comm
 ission on Postsecondary Education guiding students through tools for ident
 ifying careers that connect with their interests and ways to fund their po
 stsecondary learning.\n 	Small-group sessions with mentors from a wide spe
 ctrum of industries with international scope.\n 	Free-form networking with
  mentors and representatives from relevant organizations sharing resources
  for further discovery.\n 	Lunch from Wild Fork Catering.\n\nParticipating
  students will walk away with the information needed to dive into their po
 stsecondary planning with real-life insights and advice from the people wh
