F ilmed on five continents\, in a dozen countries\, Not My Life takes viewer s into a world where millions of children are exploited\, every day\, thro ugh an astonishing array of practices including forced labor\, domestic se rvitude\, begging\, sex tourism\, sexual violence\, and child soldiering.\ n\nClick here for more information about the film and to watch the trailer .\n\n \;\n\n\n\nThe film will be followed by a live panel discussion w ith a question and answer period featuring:\nRobin Bronen currently works as the executive director of the Alaska Institute for Justice\, a non-prof it agency that is the only immigration legal service provider in Alaska\, houses a Language Interpreter Center\, training bilingual Alaskans to be i nterpreters\, and also is a research and policy institute focused on clima te justice issues. No other agency in Alaska provides these services.\n\nT he Alaska Institute for Justice provides immigration legal services to 850 Alaskans each year\, with a priority to serve immigrant crime victims\, i ncluding domestic violence\, sexual assault and human trafficking victims. The Language Interpreter Center has trained 200 bilingual Alaskans in 40 languages to work as interpreters in Alaska and provides an interpreter re ferral service for over 300 businesses and government and non-profit agenc ies in Alaska.\n\nRobin has been working on human trafficking issues in Al aska since 2000 and was involved in the first federal prosecution to occur in the United States after Congress passed the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act legislation in 2000. The Alaska Bar Association a warded her the 2012 International Human Rights award. The Federal Bureau o f Investigation awarded the Alaska Institute for Justice the 2012 FBI Dire ctor’s Community Service award and the International Soroptomost’s awa rded the Alaska Institute for Justice the 2012 Advancing the Rights of Wom en award.\n\nJolene Goeden attended Beloit College\, Beloit\, Wisconsin\, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology. Jolene earned her M.A . in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York\, New York.\n\nJolene worked in Pennsylvania and Delaware in a state hospital setting with developmentally disabled and mentally ill sex offend ers from 1996 to 1999. Jolene was responsible for developing and implement ing behavior plans for problematic clients\, evaluating clients and writin g sexual assessments for the court. She also conducted sex offender treatm ent groups for committed sex offenders at Delaware State Hospital. From 19 99 to 2004\, Jolene worked for the Minnesota Department of Corrections as a Corrections Program Therapist at Lino Lakes Correctional Facility\, a me dium classification prison for adult males. Jolene worked in the Sex Offen der Treatment Program and conducted individual and group therapy with sex offenders.\n\nJolene received her appointment as a Special Agent with the FBI in March of 2004 and was assigned to the Anchorage Division. Jolene pr imarily works Human Trafficking and Crimes Against Children violations. Sh e is assigned to the Child Exploitation Task Force which is focused on inv estigating offenders who exploit children through commercial sex and child pornography. Jolene is partnered with the Anchorage Police Department Vic e Unit on this task force.\n\n\n\n\nThis program is FREE and Open to the P ublic.
