  France in San Francisco.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker\nOriginally from the Al
 sace region of France\, he is a graduate of the Institute of Political Stu
 dies in Strasbourg.\n\nHe joined the French Ministry for Europe and Foreig
 n Affairs in 2004.\n\nThe various positions he held in Paris and abroad le
 d him to develop a particular interest in the United Nations and the Europ
 ean Union.\n\nIn Paris\, he dealt with disarmament and non-proliferation i
 ssues\, and then negotiations at the UN Security Council regarding the Mid
 dle East.\n\nIn New York\, from 2009 on\, he was a negotiator on African i
 ssues at the French Mission to the United Nations\, before becoming the Mi
 ssion’s spokesperson until 2014.\n\nHe then moved to Brussels to become 
 the spokesperson for the Permanent Representation of France to the Europea
 n Union\, dealing in particular with the Eurozone\, migration and security
  issues at the European level.\n\nFrom May 2017 to August 2020\, he was se
 conded to the French Ministry of Interior as the diplomatic advisor to the
  Minister.\n\nFrédéric Jung was appointed Consul General of France in Sa
 n Francisco on August 28\, 2020.\n\nHe is married and father of two childr
