SUMMARY:Academic Student WorldQuest Competition
DESCRIPTION:\n\nWhat is it? \nAcademic Student WorldQuest is a student com
 petition\, featuring 5 rounds of 10 questions covering the official study 
 guide released by our national office. Students form teams of 1-4 to test 
 their international knowledge. The first place team gets the chance to tr
 avel to Washington\, D.C. to compete in the National Competition.\n\nThis 
 program is free for students thanks to our generous sponsors. AKWorld will
  be supplying a pizza lunch buffet for all participants\, with awesome giv
 eaways during the event\, and a keynote speaker.\nRegister for the 2024 Ac
 ademic WorldQuest Competition\n\n\n\n2024 WORLDQUEST TOPICS\n\n 	The North
  Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO): Alliance and Collective Defense in a
  Changing World\n 	Demographic Dividends - Population Shift in Africa\n 	T
 he Global South\n 	Sports and Diplomacy\n 	Country in Focus: South Korea\n
  	Promoting a Green Europe\n 	Women's Contributions to Track II Diplomacy\
 n 	Navigating AI: The Global Workforce\n 	Current Events\n\nOfficial AWQ S
 tudy Guide\n\n\n\nPROGRAM DETAILS\n\n 	Teams (comprising of 1-4 students) 
 must register their intent to participate by submitting an application onl
 ine.\n 	Registration closes Thursday\, January 11\, 2024. Please register 
 your teams as early as possible to help us coordinate volunteers and food.
  \n 	Bussing will be available for Anchorage School District students tha
 nks to our partnership with ASD. AKWorld staff will connect teams with a b
 ussing coordinator once application is received.\n 	Check-in will begin at
  9:30am and the competition will start at 10:30am.\n 	Student teams will b
 e assigned tables in the main seating area of the theatre.\n 	Teachers\, p
 arents\, and other members of the public are welcome to quietly observe th
 e competition from the upstairs balcony area.\n 	A pizza buffet lunch will
  be provided for participating students and their chaperones.\n\n\n\n\nThe
  World Affairs Councils of America’s Study Guide is the primary resource
  to help students and teachers prepare for the topics covered in the timed
  question-and-answer rounds of the competition. The Study Guide is an esse
 ntial resource for the Carlos and Malú Alvarez Academic WorldQuest Nation
 al Competition\, hosted by the World Affairs Councils of America every Apr
