Scott McAdams:
Sitka Mayor Scott McAdams knows that in Alaska being an elected official is about being a part of a community and answering to friends and neighbors. Scott has seen the results of his years of public service on Sitka’s streets, in classrooms across the state of Alaska and most importantly in the lives of his own neighbors, family and friends. A graduate of Sitka’s Sheldon Jackson College who was raised by a single mother in Petersburg, Scott agrees with Alaskans that we are the biggest community in the country and the voices in our towns, hubs, and villages are all more important than the politics of Washington D.C. Lisa Murkowski:
Lisa was appointed to the U.S. Senate in December 2002. The first Alaskan-born member of Congress to serve the state, she became just the 33rd woman to serve in the U.S. Senate since its founding in 1789. As a senator, Lisa has fought for issues important to Alaska. She’s working to bring better paying jobs to the state. She’s a strong advocate for construction of a natural gas pipeline and developing both the onshore and offshore resources of Alaska’s northern coast. She is also working to ensure federal taxes remain low, that federal education policy is implemented in a fair way in Alaska, and that Second Amendment rights are protected. Joe Miller:
Joe Miller is an Alaskan by choice. He grew up in a working class family in Kansas, and headed to the Last Frontier sixteen years ago because of his love for the outdoors. After graduating from law school, Miller accepted a position at a prestigious law firm in Anchorage. Just three years later, at the age of 30, he was appointed as a State Magistrate (the youngest then serving in Alaska) as well as a Superior Court Master for the Fourth Judicial District. Further honors followed four years later when Miller was appointed an Acting State District Court Judge and, shortly thereafter, U.S. Magistrate Judge in Fairbanks. Again, he had the distinction of being the youngest then serving in that federal position, not only in the state, but also in the entire nation. He was also the only judge in the United States, at that time, serving at both the federal and state levels simultaneously. To read more about Joe Miller please visit: http://joemiller.us/about/bio
