TONELSON
Alan Tonelson is a Research
Fellow at the U.S. Business
and Industry Council
Educational Foundation in
Washington, D.C. Tonelson is
also a columnist for the
Foundation’s globalization
website,
Americaneconomicalert.org
and a Research Associate at
the George Washington
University Center for
International Science and
Technology Policy. In Fall,
2002, he won a Henry L.
Stimson Center Visiting
Fellowship in China. The New
Republic has called Tonelson
“probably the most
significant economist
spreading the nationalist
gospel.” And The
International Economy
magazine named him one of
“Washington’s Top
China-Watchers” for 2004.
Tonelson is also a
consultant for CNN anchorman
Lou Dobbs.
Tonelson’s book on
globalization, The Race to
the Bottom, was published in
2000 by Westview Press. His
articles and reviews have
appeared in many leading
national publications,
including Foreign Affairs,
The Atlantic, The New York
Times, and The Washington
Post. He has also lectured
frequently on these subjects
in the United States,
Europe, and Asia.
