Only Rick Fox is the
Alaska Asset Manager for
Shell Exploration and
Production. He is not new to
Alaska: His past assignments
in Alaska include drilling
supervisor in the Bering,
Beaufort and Chukchi Seas
Projects in the late 1980’s.
He received his first Shell
President’s Award for Team
Excellence, one of several,
as a member of the Chukchi
Sea Exploration Team.
He began his career with
Shell in 1975, and his
subsequent assignments
include position in the Gulf
of Mexico, the North and Mid
Atlantic, Brazil, Syria and
the North Sea. He headed up
Shell’s Auger Project,
Shell’s first Deepwater
Development, and in 1994
took over Shell’s Major
Projects Operations Team
responsible for Shell’s
subsea projects.
In 1996, Rick took on the
role of Operations Manager
for the Ursa Project,
Shell’s largest deepwater
platform, leading Ursa
through construction,
start-up and expansion
projects. Under his
leadership the Ursa team
became known as one of the
finest teams in industry,
lauded in magazines and
industry publications for
excellence in safety, people
development and
environmental stewardship.
He subsequently took over as
Shell America’s Operations
Capability Manager in charge
of developing and executing
people strategies to assure
achievement of the company’s
goals. He returned to Alaska
earlier this year.
Rick received a B.S. in
Mathematics cum laude from
University of Georgia in
Athens in 1974. |
