Stelian Dimitrov is a
Lecturer in the Faculty of
Geology and Geography at
Sofia University “St.
Kliment Ohridski” in
Bulgaria. He has also worked
closely with the Bulgarian
National Center for Regional
Development and Housing
Policy, the Bulgarian
Institute of Public
Administration and European
Integration, and the
Bulgarian Ministry of
Environment and Water
Resources. Dr. Dimitrov’s
expertise is in Regional and
Environmental Planning,
Geographic Information
Systems, Spatial Decision
Support Systems and Spatial
Modeling, and Strategic
Environmental Assessment.
He received his Bachelor’s,
Master’s, and PhD in
Geography at Sofia
University, and he received
a Certificate of Graduate
Studies from the University
of Oxford, United Kingdom.
His scholarships and awards
include HESP Scholarship-
Sustainable development
Summer School (2005), OSI /
Chevening Scholarship-
University of Oxford (2000),
and Governmental Doctoral
Scholarship in Bulgaria
(1998). He has worked and
published on projects and
issues of regional
development in Bulgaria and
Southeast Europe.
As a winner of a 2006-2007
Fulbright Senior Scholar
Fellowship, Dr. Dimitrov
lectures at the Indiana
University of Pennsylvania. |
